App vs. Browser: Key Differences
We recommend the dedicated rune app for Android users because it offers offline account caching — your balance and recent bets load instantly even on slow connections. The app also sends push notifications when your bets settle, when a withdrawal completes, or when a Liga 1 match you are tracking begins. Loading is faster because the app stores static assets locally. However, the web version works equally well and requires no installation; you access it simply by opening your browser.
iOS users see no functional difference between the home-screen app and the web version because both run through Safari. Performance is identical. Choose whichever feels more convenient — the home-screen icon is simply a shortcut to our mobile website. Some users prefer the web link because it always shows the latest version; others prefer the home-screen shortcut for quick access during Piala AFF or Champions League matches.
Push notifications are a rune app feature
Only the Android app sends real-time notifications. iOS home-screen apps and the web browser do not support native push notifications. If you want live match alerts and settlement confirmations, the Android app delivers these automatically.
Device Compatibility and Requirements
Our rune Android APK requires Android 7.0 or later. Older devices may not run the app, but they can still access rune through a mobile browser. iPhone and iPad users need iOS 12.0 or later to add rune to their home screen; web access works on even older iOS versions. All devices need an active internet connection — there is no offline betting on rune, though your account data caches locally for faster loading when you reconnect.
Troubleshooting Installation Issues
Android users may encounter a security warning: "Install apps from unknown sources." This is normal because you are installing directly from our servers instead of the Google Play Store. Go to your device Settings → Apps and Notifications → Advanced → Install Unknown Apps, then enable our browser. Alternatively, enable it in Security Settings → Unknown Sources. You must grant this permission only once. We do not ask for unnecessary permissions; the app accesses only what is needed to display your account and process transactions.
If you receive a certificate-trust warning, your device is checking that our servers are genuine. This is a security feature. Proceed with caution: verify the domain is rune.best before continuing. We use standard SSL encryption; certificates are signed by recognized authorities. If you doubt the certificate, contact our support team before entering your password.
Data, Permissions, and Account Security
Our rune app requests minimal permissions: network access (to communicate with our servers), storage access (to cache your account data locally), and notification permission (to alert you when bets settle). We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or location. We do not track your location. Your account login credentials are encrypted on your device; we never store your password in plain text. All communication between your phone and our servers uses SSL/TLS encryption. Your payment details (mobile banking, local payment, online payment, e-wallet, mobile banking, local payment, online payment, e-wallet, mobile banking, local payment credentials) are never stored on the app — payment processing happens on our secure servers.
